My Experience

My experience in the kitchen started when I was a little girl, baking cookies with my mom. When I got a bit older, I helped by doing some of the grocery shopping and making some simple meals for the family.

In high school, I enrolled in a culinary arts course at a vocational school. I  learned the art of cooking under a real chef, with some insight into restaurant management as well.  I loved the experience and learned much.

After getting married, I realized I had still had much to learn in the kitchen. Many, many mistakes were made! Having four children and a low grocery budget taught me to make meals that were cheap, yet tasty. I found that my family loved the "from scratch" meals that I made. Having ingredients on hand to put together homemade treats and meals was a much more frugal way than buying things "ready made".

Over the years I have perfected many recipes. I started out by using my favorite cookbooks and then got more bold and was able to "tweak" some of them to my taste. (eg. Pork pie, pizza, etc)

Having a blog to share my cooking adventures makes me so happy! I love to give away my favorite recipes and see others have success with them. There's nothing more satisfying than learning a new recipe and being able to add it to your current collection. I hope I can encourage others to be bold in the kitchen and try new things!

p.s. Some of my biggests mistakes have turned into some of my biggest victories!

Keep Cooking!
